Magicians come together
Niantic, the company that created the hit game “Pokemon GO”, launched its new game this week based on another popular franchise.
It’s called “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” and, like “Pokemon GO”, the game uses augmented reality to place digital objects, such as monsters and popular characters from the “Harry Potter” books, in the real world.
It’s a big step for Niantic, which split off from the Alphabet of Google’s parent company and, earlier this year, raised an additional $ 245 million in a $ 4 billion valuation. It is said that Niantic has generated about $ 2 billion from “Pokemon GO” in its first two years, according to an investigation by Sensor Tower. With a new potential great success in the hands of Niantic, “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” is a game to watch.

The game seems to be an early success, too. It already has more than 500 positive comments with an average score of more than four stars in the Apple App Store, and players around the world talk about it. I decided to give it a quick spin to see how it is.

I admit that I could not get much into “Pokemon GO”, maybe because I was not always a huge Pokémon fan, and I just played some of the original games on the Nintendo Gameboy. “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Provides Also Additional type of all Supplies For Best Experience

And that made the beginning of “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite have fun.” Just minutes from the game, I saw Rubeus Hagrid, the half-giant, half human “Harry Potter” standing at the table in my living room. Using AR, the game showed a version of him, big and tall, caught in a spider’s web. My job was to free him with a spell, which meant simply sliding the screen.

It is not much of a game to sit and play without doing anything, which will attract some people, especially parents who do not want their children to sit on the couch all day. In the summer months, it could push people to be more outside while they play, like “Pokemon GO” did.

It may be too early to know if this will take off in the way that “Pokemon GO” did, but it has similar characteristics and will attract a wide audience of “Harry Potter” fans. It is also fun for all ages. In any case, try just to see the future of mobile games and what the next Niantic game is about.
